Aug-13-09  MaxxLange: <WannaBe> Bush is retired now: he is busy cutting brush, and skimming leaves out of the swimming pool, in Houston. He is enjoying a well deserved rest, and, sadly, he cannot direct FEMA for We The People any more.

Taiwan, unlike New Orleans, is not within the United States, but I give you megadittos on your point!

Nah, we're fine... Seriously, we're gonna be fine!!

Aug-13-09  weisyschwarz: With all these hurricanes passing through this year, No doubt the end of the world is near.

technical draw: Let's say things correctly. Storms with female names are hurricanes. Storms with male names are himmicanes. Must I teach you everything??

technical draw: I invented the saying: "Let sleeping dogs Odd Lie"
Aug-15-09  The Lone Banana: <MaxxLange: It turns out that the comic strip "Peanuts" is mainly the story of Charlie Brown's descent into madness . . . His attempts to secure psychiatric treatment are ineffective.>

Lemonade stand psychiatry is not always an enriching experience, but at 5 cents a pop, it is certain to become an impoverishing experience. Pecuniary disincentives for continuity of treatment are always a problem in the mental health field.

Might I suggest that Brother Brown consult his minister? The advice would not necessarily be correct, but it would be a heaven of a lot cheaper.

Aug-15-09  The Lone Banana: The vaunted Villard Gambit (1.--)seemed unbeatable.

However, since the use of the Raud Counter-Gambit (1.-- --) [F Villard vs I Raud, 1937 ] became standard, the opening has favored black. http://www.chessgames.com/perl/ches...

(Overall 8+ 5- 4= for black, or 8+ 4- 4= if F E Hamond vs R P Michell, 1912, not really a Villard-Raud, is thrown out.)

Aug-15-09  The Lone Banana: Famously, Boris Spassky won game 2 of his 1972 title defense with the Raud.

Fischer vs Spassky, 1972

Aug-15-09  The Lone Banana: Spassky would have won the match, but he couldn't think of ways to use the Raud Counter-Gambit when Fischer didn't open with the Villard.

Aug-16-09  The Lone Banana: The fear of medical impoverishment is not a sword of Damocles hanging over most American's heads.

Hope it helps.

Aug-18-09  weisyschwarz: The other two chipmunks combined lines to invent the ALVIN!-Counter Gambit.

NN could have made a name for himself, but he always fell for the Ruy Lopez "sun in your eyes" trick. Doofus!

Lastly, it is a rumor that Vishy and his wife had twins named Dan and Dana Anand.

Just me and one other member understand this gag.

Aug-19-09  capatal: It takes your enemy and your friend, working together, to hurt you to the heart; the one to slander you and the other to get the news to you. -
Aug-19-09  capatal: The chicken probably came before the egg because it is hard to imagine God wanting to sit on an egg.
Aug-19-09  NakoSonorense: But he was done after the sixth day so he had a lot of time to kill (or sit).
