Jul-03-04  arifattar: Who is Monica Vann? She is credited as a practioner of the King's Gambit Accepted by chessgames.com. I think the King's gambit is very un-woman like. Women players should rather be playing the Queen's gambit. ( Just joking)
Jul-26-04  mack: Don't know who she is - what's more, she seems to have played some games in Suffolk, and there aren't many of those in the database. Probably because Suffolk's rubbish.
Jul-30-04  Cecil Brown: A little bit of detective work reveals she is registered with the Poisoned Pawns team in the 4NCL and has a rating of 1528.

refutor: question if she's rated 1528 why does she have 74 games in the database? i'm rated about 1528 and i'm not in here ;)
Jul-30-04  Dick Brain: How come she gets White so often? If she in prison like Claude Bloodgood?
Apr-05-05  mack: No, everybody knows women don't commit crime.
Apr-05-05  Jamespawn: Thats right mack , and no woman would ever try to manipulate or mislead a man either. My ex never tried to manipulate or mislead me. She couldn`t play chess either...not even at a 1528 level.

beenthere240: Some of the games are very strange as well with decisions in very alive positions and the winner having less material and an inferior position.
Jul-22-09  Dredge Rivers: In high school, I used to drive a Monica van! :)
Aug-30-09  muwatalli: 1528 is her rating?? why is she one of the 3 for the white side in kings gambit declined :/ this is wierd

<Cecil Brown>,
A little further detective work reveals that back in the mid 1990's Miss Vann was a sales agent for the Chess Assistant software program:
