zanzibar: Likely this is <F. Lehmann>, "at present Mr. Deaf-mute teacher F Lehmann was for a short time a member of the Berlin club", who played in Posen.

He also was a strong player, winning some of those Haup...turnier sections.

Some German-speaking player should clean this area up - it would be a lot easier than having a non-native speaker do it.

zanzibar: Yeah, my hunch is getting hunchier:

L Lehmann (kibitz #10)

Shame the heavies didn't leave a cross-link here, or get the correction in.

zanzibar: Gothic, or old-style Germanic script/typesetting have a F that a non-native speaker won't instantly recognize. That could explain, maybe, how an F turned into a C (that is, assuming my hunch is correct).
