Henryka Konarkowska-Sokolov was born in Inowroclaw, Poland. Polish women's champion in 1958, 1960, 1963 and 1964. She was also Yugoslav women's champion in 1968 and 1971 and was awarded the WIM title in 1961 and the WGM title in 1986. Married to Vladimir Sokolov.

  brankat: <whiteshark> Actually, I remember Henrijeta from the late 1960s, after she had moved to Yugoslavia.

Her husband Vladimir Sokolov is an IM, but has not been active in many years. He has been a chess coach/trainer, and also authored several Chess books, mostly on openings. I have "Sicilian Defence" I & II, which he co-authored with S.Gligiric, I think it was in '61.
