Julio Ernesto Granda Zuniga was born in Camaná, Peru. He was awarded the GM title in 1986. He was 1st= at Havana 1986 and has played for Peru in many olympiads, usually on first board. He now lives in Spain. Shared the first place with Mikhail Tal and Jesus Nogueiras at Magistral Najdorf (1991) [brasilbase-1]. Champion of South America, winning at Brasilia Zonal 1993. He won Pamplona (1995). Shared the first place with Jan Timman at Donner Memorial (1995) ahead of Judit Polgar, Alexey Shirov, Alexander Khalifman, Alexander Morozevich, Valery Salov and Jeroen Piket. Shared the first place with Vassily Ivanchuk at Donner Memorial (1996), ahead of Gata Kamsky, Salov, Piket, Timman, Morozevich et alli http://www.chess.gr/tourn/3rd_Donne.... He won at Leon 1997, 1.0 pt ahead of John Nunn [brasilbase-2]. American Continental Champion at Cali 2007, with the same score as Alexander Ivanov, Varuzhan Akobian, Darcy Lima and Eduardo Patricio Iturrizaga Bonelli. Ibero-American Champion at Morelia 2008 [brasilbase-3]. He is a five-time chess champion of Peru, winning in 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, and 2002. Winner of the 2013 American Continental Championship in Bolivia.

You are right. (I am a native Spanish speaker and I am known to be a grammar Nazi even on instant messaging chats. (Since most native Spanish speakers are ignorant <expletive that starts with f> when it comes to spelling rules, the grammar Nazi remark had to be made.))
