Champion of Croatia 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 2003, and 2006. Winner of 'Mediterranean Flowers' 2009.

U Krapini je 50-ih godina 20. stoljeca osnovan ŠAHOVSKI KLUB „DIT KRAPINA“ koji je u razdoblju od 1970. do 1981. godine, predvođen sestrama Radmilom i Mirjanom Petek, postigao najznacajnije rezultate. Ne brigom odgovornih ljudi 1981. godine klub se ugasio, no skupina šahovskih zaljubljenika pokrenula je inicijativu i u veljaci 1996. godine obnovila rad Šahovskog kluba „Krapina“ ciji je osnovni program poticanje i promicanje šahovske aktivnosti, organiziranje natjecanja i turnira, simultanki te turnira za kategorizaciju i stjecanje prava upisa na hrvatsku „rejting-listu“. Između ostalih, clanovi kluba su Mirjana Petek-Medic, najbolja šahistkinja Hrvatske i Miljenko Medic, FIDE majstor i doprvak svijeta za invalide.
