Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-27-05  Grunfeld: Good result for Vijayalakshmi in the Accentus tournament at Biel - she just shared first with Almira Skripchenko with 6.5/10.
Jul-27-05  aw1988: What a name.
Jul-27-05  arifattar: <OpenDefence> might know a bit more about her.
Jul-27-05  Grunfeld: <arifattar> Here is a little info:

http://www.chathurangam.com/chennai...

Jul-27-05  arifattar: Thanks <Grunfeld> The site says she is national no. 1 I thought it was Koneru Humpy
Jul-27-05  Grunfeld: <arifattar> Koneru is the highest rated female player in India, but she doesn't play in the national championships any more. I think the site meant that this player is the current national women's champion.
Jul-28-05  VishyFan: It's fantastic result for her as she has won after losing the first game to Almira
Jul-28-05  VishyFan: <arifattar> as <Grunfeld> said, she is the Women's National Champion......, Humpy is not playing in the Women's National Tournaments due to very low Average Rating of the opponents....., Now, She's trying to fight her way into the men's section.........

keypusher: Thanks, emperor -- did you take all these pictures?
Mar-13-06  EmperorAtahualpa: <keypusher> I wish I did. :) (I mean, I wish I was there)
Apr-16-06  Sudar: Viji -out of olympiad Team - I feel for her
Aug-07-06  nescio: If our Indian friends can look away from Negi's performance in Vlissingen for a moment, they will be pleased to note that Vijayalakshmi is succesfully playing in a Greek tournament. After 4 rounds she shares the lead with 3,5 points, together with Romanishin and Mastrovasilis among others. In the fifth she plays with black against Drozdovskij and after 23 moves has a position with possibilities she will probably like.

May-19-07  percyblakeney: <Vij has won the tournament of Cutro in Italy>

No bad performance, she played seven GMs and scored +4 -1 =2 with a 2600+ performance in total.

Aug-12-15  malathiswami: Congratulations to Viji, on an excellent performance at the Asian Continentals. Pity about the last round, but it is amazing to be able to get back to playing at the highest level 15 years after the national championship wins!
