Mar-10-09  dumbgai: <shahjinan> Exactly. Not just Fischer and Kasparov, but engines like Rybka and Fritz were designed to play like many GMs (at least that was the early motivation). I find it ironic that now GMs are suspected of cheating whenever they happen to play the same moves that computers which were designed to play like GMs, would play.
Mar-10-09  blacksburg: <Well Rybka 3 was designed on How Fischer/Kasparov played and made great theory of Chess>

i'm not a computer chess expert by any means, but this doesn't sound quite right. Rybka has a lot more to do with things like minimax and alpha-beta pruning theory and brute-force calculation and microchips than anything related to Fischer or Kasparov.

Mar-11-09  praddy06: has the FIDE Ethics Committee done anything....i remember they played some role after Kramnik was accused.....why is FIDE Ethics Committee silent so far........!

This is serious issue Kurnosov is playing well he should not be disturbed by a childish Immature GM who cant bear a loss.....FIDE Ethics Committee ACT SOON

Mar-11-09  Augalv: <This is serious issue Kurnosov is playing well he should not be disturbed by a childish Immature GM who cant bear a loss.....FIDE Ethics Committee ACT SOON>

I agree. Why doesn't Fide do anything everytime a player gratuitously accuses another player without conclusive evidence?

Fide Ethics Committee definitely has to act soon.

Mar-11-09  KARPOVian: < praddy06 Mamedyarov have u seen the results of Igor Kurnosov past and this season he is in great form for the past 6 months from October 2008 <Open Romgaz 6.0/9
Students Team Russian Chmp 6.5/9
Gubernators Cup Ugra 2008 5.5/9
Russia Cup Regions 2008 5.5/8
Hastings Masters 2009 7.5/9
Moscow Open 2009 6.5/9
Aeroflot open 2009 6.0/9
10th EICC 3.5/4 which is on progress>

i doubt he cheated in all these tournaments and did not get caught and only you have complained because he played better than you and you cant bear a loss...Bit childish

i hope he continues this form (currently has gained 50 elo points) soon he reaches 2700 mark and beat you gain and again>

I agree.Buddy I think you've missed that Igor Kurnosov also won the Artic Chess Challenge 2008.

True.. but also the other truth is It has full database of chess theory and moves played by Fischer/ Kasparov/ GMs before and statistics behind it... in that way to select best first moves up till a complex line.

alexmagnus: Comps are calculation, but the algorithms of <evaluation> of positions are based on the experience of human GMs.
Mar-14-09  jon01: Kurnosov feels himself especially good when playing Richter-Rauzer attack as white. Today he won with a nice attack against IM D'Costa.
Mar-19-09  jon01: I am looking forward to Kurnosov's next tournament. Russian club championships perhaps?
Mar-21-09  praddy06: Kurnosov's expected rating change of +56.3 for the April List

Mar-21-09  slomarko: +56.3?? thats a huge jump.
Mar-24-09  dumbgai: It's karma, soon he'll be rated above Mamedyarov. Then who will be the daring one to refuse the other guy's draw offer? :)
Mar-25-09  MichaelJHuman: Doesn't the rating jump prove he's cheating? ;)

Ron: <slomarko: +56.3?? thats a huge jump.> and at the Mamedyrov page slomarko wrote: <<slomarko: <a tournament of his life...> hmmm>>

Looks like slomarko is making another in-valid inference here. Utilizing the FIDE website that was provided by <Tabanus> I looked up some other players and here are some rating jumps they had, anyone can check my math by going to the site:

Magnus Carlsen
+55 rating jump from Oct 05 to Jan 06

Radjabov
+50 rating jump from Jan 01 to April 01

Karjakin
+72 rating jump from Oct 01 to Jan 02

Mamedyarov
+51 rating jump from Oct 03 to Jan 04

May-30-09  fref: Happy birthday K Kurnosov!
Jun-12-09  praddy06: .

Performance from October 2008

Open Romgaz 6.0/9
Students Team Russian Chmp 6.5/9
Gubernators Cup Ugra 2008 5.5/9
Russia Cup Regions 2008 5.5/8
Hastings Masters 2009 7.5/9
Moscow Open 2009 6.5/9
Aeroflot open 2009 6.0/9
10th EICC 2009 7.5/11
1st SCS Open 2009 7/8 in progress

it seems he is nearing the 2700 mark with every tournament with a live rating around 2675 moving ahead of Mamedyarov would be ideal reply to his accusations of him being a low rated player who won games by cheating

Aug-08-11  Don Cossacks: Nice win by Kurnosov!
<It was the Russian grandmaster Kurnosov that undivided won this year's tournament with 8 ½ points. In the last round he won with the black pieces over GM report from Hungary. Along the way we thought actually that young Hungarians were good, but it is not certain that it is. After 20th Lxc5 we thought that White was on top, but after 20 -, SC6! (Chart) yes, so was the former so miserable jumps on a6 suddenly going to f3. Black won a quality, and although White struggled well and long, so he had down eventually. > http://translate.googleusercontent....
