|Oct-14-07|| ||Karpova: He won the 7th Winterthur Chess Week 2007 (10/5/07 to 10/13/07) - Swiss format, 2 h for 40 moves and 1 h for the rest of the game.|
He had 7.5 points (+6 =3 -0) and won 2500 €. He ended up ahead of Malakhatko (who plays for Belgium, 7.5 points, +7 =1 -1, with worse Buchholz number, winning 1800 €) and Jenni (7 points, +6 =2 -1, 1200 €).

|May-12-14|| ||waustad: He won the Tschaturanga Open 2014, which shouldn't be a shock since he was the rating leader by 100 elo. Looking him up with a player search on chess-results I was surprised just how much he plays around Wien. He's in several Austrian leagues and actually plays in almost all rounds and he's entered in most tournaments in the area. He's still however listed as German. Of course by air Europe isn't very large, but flying adds to expenses.|
|Sep-06-14|| ||waustad: He's playing in the Wiener Landesmeisterschaft 2014, the only player from another federation. The games can be found live here starting Sept. 6: http://chess-results.com/live.aspx|

|Aug-14-18|| ||whiteshark: German Champion 2018!!
With a key last round win, Buhmann became German champion (89th German Individual Championship ) with a full point lead. He succeeds German number one, Liviu-Dieter Nisipeanu, who won the tournament in 2017.
|Aug-15-18|| ||Telemus: Congratulations to Buhmann!
Those who took part can not be made responsible for those who stayed away. But for the German championship it would have been much better if Buhmann and Poetsch had not played! Then IM Kvetny (who?) would have been the rating favourite (ELO 2421!).
Happy Lasker year, Schachbund!
