  Lawrence: <chessman6555>, is it you?
May-11-04  ajit: Hmmm..., it will be unwise for me to opine, but what the heck?! :-) Well, untill chessman6555 replies, we will never know. But, I strongly doubt it is Rohit himself. Reason being, when i chked his kibitzes on Capablanca vs Marshall, 1909, he asked a farily straight forward question. A player of Rohit's strength wudn't do that.
May-11-04  nutsaboutchess: perhaps he would if he wanted to pull the wool over our eyes and remain anonymous
May-14-04  chessman6555: No,No,its just that I beat him once.
May-14-04  chessman6555: <Ajit>I just asked the question because Harry Golombek gives it wrong but I cant make out how?
Aug-14-04  chessman6555: And i beat him that too in a simul chess display.
Jan-20-07  samsal27: Rohit beat Saidali Iuladchev which is his third victory over a GM in the Parsvanath tournament. He is now an IM and also has his first GM Norm!
Feb-21-07  samsal27: Great performance by Rohit so far in Aeroflot. He could make his second GM norm here if he finishes well in the last two rounds.
Feb-22-07  saturn: G. Rohit made his second GM norm after he drew with GM Frolyanov (2521). Congrats to him!

VishyFan: <saturn: G. Rohit made his second GM norm after he drew with GM Frolyanov (2521). Congrats to him!> I cannot see the result on the official site yet, did you see the live game?

I certainly hope that Rohit had completed his GM Norm, and what more he would be gaining about 30 ELO from this tournament....

Feb-22-07  samsal27: G. Rohit certainly made the norm. Not only that, his performance was 2621 which is amazing considering his young age.
Feb-22-07  samsal27: Sorry, make it 2626 TPR. And he finished 18th in an extremely strong field.

VishyFan: Congratulations to Rohit on his 2nd GM Norm....

He will gain 28.2 from Aeroflot 2007....

Feb-24-07  saturn: Perhaps G. Rohit will get his third norm in Kolkata and become India's 16th Grandmaster?

VishyFan: wow! Rohit has made fantastic progress over the last 2 months....

He participated in 3 tournaments (National 'A', Parsvnath, Aeroflot A2) getting selecting for the Indian team, and gaining 2 GM Norms in the last 2 tournaments and in the process gaining a whooping 83 ELO points....

wow!!!! he is effectively 2475 now..., new kid on the block..., it took a while for him to be @ this position, but i think he'll get going from this point on....

Best of luck to him for the future.., i hope he'll get his final GM Norm @ Kolkata and in the process gain enuf ELO to fulfill the condition of crossing 2500 ELO to become a GM>>>

Aug-31-07  yalie: he gets his final GM norm in Dhaka (asian zonal chess). Now will his rating go past 2500?

Oct-14-07  samsal27: <yalie>, <angslo> In the race to become India's 17th GM the two clear favourites are G. Rohit and Abhijit Gupta. Both have their three GM norms and need the ELO points to confirm their title. Any guess as to who will make it first?

Oct-15-07  samsal27: <anglso> I agree with you.
Feb-25-10  Satyajit: He was a good friend and we started at the same time. I think he is MIA now, I hope he will be a GM so that I could say I beat would-be GM countless times :)
