shivasuri4: Oh, even I don't think Nalbandian will beat Nadal, I just want him to stretch Nadal. And Nadal being undercooked is perfectly possible; it's just that it may not be obvious for all to see, for he hits pretty high levels in any case.

Meanwhile, I noticed that Nadal is playing doubles too here, and has reached the semis so far.So I guess Nadal won't be underdone here.

achieve: Well said - they're all preparing for the big show-downs this summer, possibly the greatest clash of forces in recent history is on the cards... all powers converging at the Munich Oktoberfeste! Oops, SW 19 more likely. ;)

shivasuri4: Say, what happened to Andy Murray? Did he play here?

  achieve: Under-performed.

Yes.

Mar-15-12  Jim Bartle: Murray lost in the first round.

Federer barely woke up in time last night to beat Bellucci. He was definitely off his game for much of the match.

Mar-15-12  nitronite: Well, to answer about how Federer played against Bellucci, it turned out that Federer also had the flu and had a slight fever playing the match. So I think we can forgive him. :)
Mar-15-12  Jim Bartle: That would explain it. He seemed to sleepwalk through the first set. He would have lost except that Bellucci got nervous. At least that's how I saw it.

shivasuri4: Ah, Nadal was 2 points away from defeat against Nalbandian in the quarters. Now comes the big one against Federer! Djokovic plays Isner in the other semi.
Mar-16-12  Jim Bartle: Nalbandian had Nadal on the ropes as Nadal was making many more errors than usual. But Nadal got it together at the end of the second set, and then you knew the third was a formality. Nalbandian played well though.

I see Federer beat del Potro easily once again. I'm surprised it wasn't at least closer. Del Potro must be awfully tired of playing Federer, must be the fourth time in just a few months.

shivasuri4: Nadal and Isner are both in the men's doubles finals, and the men's singles semis!
Mar-17-12  Jim Bartle: Middle of the second set after the rain. I don't know when I've seen Federer play better, certainly not against Nadal. If he keeps this up might have been his chance to beat Djokovic again. But it'll be Isner instead.

KKDEREK: Weird how easy was for Federer today against Nadal..Im surprised..Djoko definitely after his vacation, is not playing on his level of last year..Today he playd <bad> IMO (not taking credit from Ilsner)
Mar-17-12  Jim Bartle: Federer's going to beat just about everyone playing the way he did today. He was moving, he was hitting hard and accurately from both sides, taking the ball early, and not making errors.

It was comical how the rain came back at match point. So Federer had to wait ten minutes or so, then they went back out, Federer hit an ace and it was over.

Djokovic only lost his serve once in seventeen service games, so that can't be so bad. But he only broke twice, and that's mainly because of Isner's huge serve. Djokovic did make more errors than usual, though.

KKDEREK: Yes he made more errors and didn't have that intensity, especially as we usually see him against Nadal, that behind the baseline game..Isner have a <huge> serve but he doesn't exactly excels at the net or hit so hard as him. I might be wrong, but still I feel that I never saw Djoko losing like that. But hey, that happens...

shivasuri4: I predict a straight set victory for Federer today. In the doubles finals, Nadal and Mark Gicquel should win.

KKDEREK: Exciting times..If Federer beat Nadal next Master he can get the n. 2 ranking back. Both have the record 19 times masters titles..We shall see. Djoko doesn't seem on fire like last year..

shivasuri4: Federer and Roddick play for the 24th time tomorrow, excluding exhibition matches. Federer has a 21-2 record, and will most likely improve upon it.

  KKDEREK: Agreed. Hes the draw

I guess Nadal got a tougher schedule, as mught take bug serve Isner and Murray to get the finals. Djoko will have probably Potro before takes Federer on semis..Federer get a clean path til semis IMO..

Mar-24-12  Jim Bartle: I see Murray plays Raonic next. That could be interesting if Raonic is getting his serve in.

KKDEREK: Yes good matches..Nadal is playing today as well..I saw Djoko yesterday..Had some problems with Bargatis..He's gonna have to play more than that in order to beat Federer or Nadal
