Congrats to IM Mikhail Ekdyshman (2366) for holding 2nd seed GM Vasif Durabayli (2632) to a draw with black in R1 of the Golden Sands tournament. Durabayli was the highest seed (and only one in the top 8 boards) to not win their first round game.

Tomorrow, he'll take white against IM Mert Yilmazyerli (2460).
