Congrats to Yuri Solodovnichenko for remaining one of only 3 players still perfect at the Dubai Open through 4 rounds. Being just the 27th seed, this is pretty impressive. In Round 5, he'll have black against 2nd seed Fedoseev (3.5).

He has also gained a decent 9.3 rating points so far.

Penguincw: For the record: 27th seed Solodovnichenko would end up in an 18-way tie for 13th (15th overall) with 6/9 (+5,-2,=2) and gained 8 rating points (2584 -> 2592).

Penguincw: Congrats to Yuri Solodovnichenko for upsetting world #10 (and 2nd seed there) Anish Giri in R2 of the French Team Championships.

Y Solodovnichenko vs A Giri, 2015

Unfortunately, "Vandoeuvre-Les-Nancy" still lost to "Bischwiller" 5-3, but a 2 point loss is not bad for a team rated 162 points lower.

Aug-09-17  diagonal: Yuri Solodovnichenko wins the closed <Koege Anniversary tournament 2017> in Denmark, ahead of Eduardas Rozentalis:
