[what is this?]
|Dr. Geronimo Cascio was born in Sicily. In the early 1600s, he lost a chess match to Salvio and had to pay the debts of his backers who bet on him to win. In 1606, he defeated Polerio in Rome and was given a position in the palace of Jacopo Boncompagni. In 1620, he beat il Marano, a leading player of the day. Cascio supposedly invented the Muzio Gambit, then showed it to Senor Muzio. Muzio then showed it to Salvio, giving himself the credit for the invention.|
