Apr-08-11  Whitehat1963: Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls are looking pretty good these days. Will they play against the San Antonio Spurs or Kobe and the Lakers? Or will the Lebron and company surprise everyone? Perhaps an even bigger surprise would be seeing Steve Nash lead an upset of the Lakers or Spurs in the finals.
Apr-08-11  Whitehat1963: Or might Dwight Howard return to his heroic ways?
Apr-09-11  DanielBryant: Only the last name fits, but I am hoping for A E Aldridge.
Apr-09-11  Whitehat1963: I think the Kevin Garnett, Paul I Pierce and the rest of the Celtics are going down early this year. Eastern Conference belongs to Derrick Rose and the Bulls.

Calli: F. Rose is mentioned in various books as an organizer and chess club officer, but I did not find a full name.

Apr-09-11  myschkin: A day to remember by John. S. Hilbert

"The officers for the NYSCA for the coming year [1891] were elected unanimously: [...] and the advisory committee, [...], Frederick Rose, of Brooklyn, ... "

Could this be the right Rose?

edit: Hatts off <Calli>! Gosh I was too slow^^

Apr-11-11  Whitehat1963: Derrick Rose for NBA MVP!

chancho: Derrick Rose, dude plays great ball.
May-05-11  Whitehat1963: Yes, he certainly does. But does he deserve to be the MVP? Hmm. I'm a fan, but I'm not so sure. He doesn't have a Dwayne Wade like Lebron does. He doesn't have Kobe's supporting cast, either. He doesn't have a Big Three equivalent to the Celtics. Perhaps he does deserve it. In any event, I hope the Bulls can make it to the finals. But even if they don't, I don't think a Western Conference team will win this year. No one in the West is looking too impressive so far.
May-16-11  Whitehat1963: One down, three to go! Go Bulls!

perfidious: <Whitehat1963> Irv Pierce was a barrel-chested white guy, no more than 5'9"-even I couldn't mix up those two!
May-18-11  Whitehat1963: Just trying to get in as many last relevant last names in blue as I could. Yes, I know. Incredibly silly!
May-27-11  Whitehat1963: Perhaps next year, Derrick.
May-08-15  Whitehat1963: Could this year be Derrick Rose's year? He and the Bulls are looking good. I only hope he can stay healthy.

TheFocus: <Maybe there's a whole other universe where a square moon rises in the sky, and the stars laugh in cold voices, and some of the triangles have four sides, and some have five and some have five raised to the fifth power of sides. In this universe there might grow roses which sing. Everything leads to everything> - Stephen King.

May-25-15  Whitehat1963: What are the odds on Derrick Rose blowing out another knee and retiring before he reaches age 30? I think the odds are pretty damned good.
