Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-10-06  EmperorAtahualpa: Michael Bolton...that not only reminds me of the singer, but also of one of my favorite movies: Office Space!

----
Samir Nagheenanajar: No one in this country can ever pronounce my name right. It's not that hard: Samir Na-gheen-an-a-jar. Nagheenanajar.

Michael Bolton: Yeah, well at least your name isn't Michael Bolton.

Samir Nagheenanajar: You know there's nothing wrong with that name.

Michael Bolton: There WAS nothing wrong with it... until I was about 12 years old and that no-talent ass clown became famous and started winning Grammys.

Samir Nagheenanajar: Hmm... well why don't you just go by Mike instead of Michael?

Michael Bolton: No way. Why should I change? He's the one who sucks!

Brilliant. :)

perfidious: <Dredge Rivers: Why did he break up with Ashley Judd?>

No accounting for some folks, I guess.

Jim Bolton was one of the strongest players in Connecticut for many years, though by the time I began tournament play in 1972 he was playing less. As a result, we only met once at the board, in the 1994 Vermont championship, held at (cue heavy irony) the Bolton Valley ski resort. The game ended in a draw after I missed a chance for a clear advantage.

wwall: "The FBI today checkmated James M. Bolton, New England chess champion, for evading the draft. Bolton, 22 years old, of New Haven, was charged with refusing to report for induction, Connecticut's first evasion case under the new Selective Service Act. Bolton, unable to post bond for $1,000, was remanded to the New Haven County jail." - New York Times, March 4, 1951, p. 60
