International Master since 1982. Runner-up in the 2010 Tunisian Championship. Won the Zonal 4.1 Championship in 2011 with 7.5/9 on tie break ahead of Kamel Njili, entitling him to participate in the World Cup (2011). However, he bowed out in the first round to the top seed and Russian super-GM Sergey Karjakin.
