Calli: January 7, 1911, New York, NY - Dr. M.J. Clurman of the NY Medical Society issues a statement today requesting the abolishment of college football. Since 1909, 113 deaths and over 900 injuries have been reported. Even with the advancement of the new rules pertaining to increased yardage to 15 yards and 5 downs being discussed, he states the injuries will not decrease.
