Jul-29-12  Karpova: Dr. Zoltan von Szavay died of pneumonia.
He scored 50 % at the 17th German Chess Federation Congress, Hauptturnier B at Hamburg 1910 - crosstable: http://www.edochess.ca/tournaments/... - and won the Budapest Amateur Championship in 1920 and 1921. He was the vice president of the Hungarian Chess Federation and especially involved in the organisation of team matches. He was also a writer and was into economic life and other sports as well.
