  Tabanus: Macon Telegraph (Georgia), 19 March 1926, p. 8:

<Seattle, Wash., March 18. (AP) Arvid V. Johnson, 20, Seattle, defeated Dr. Emanuel Lasker, for 27 years the world's chess champion, in a tournament here in which the master played 30 men simultaneously. The youth said that he had been playing chess for only a year and that he does not devote more time than a few hours a day to the game. He is employed at manual labor and studies electrical engineering by mail. ... A few weeks ago Johnson played three older men blindfolded and beat two of them.>
