My name is Rinzou and I am 52 years old. My chess nickname refers to one of my favorite bands, Three Dog Night, and my 14 dogs. I learned chess late, at age 21. When I was 23 I read a story in the local paper about the Riverside Chess Club (California) which was only about 10-15 miles from where I lived. I was beating all my friends and family so I thought I'd go by and check it out. I played an expert and was soundly thrashed. Discouraged, I went to the library and checked out a few books on chess and read some old bound Chess Life magazines. I went back to the club and just missed qualifying for the club championships in my first tournament. I finished with an even score and from then on I was hooked on the Royal Game. I am currently a class A player and peaked twice at 1963 back in the early eighties. I've played only a handful of tournaments since. (GM Larry Christiansen, by the way, is one of our former club champions!) My favorite player is Garry Kasparov. The 10 Greatest Players of all time in my opinion: 1 Garry Kasparov 2 J R Capablanca 3 Bobby Fischer 4 Paul Morphy 5 Anatoly Karpov 6 Alexander Alekhine 7 Emanuel Lasker 8 Mikhail Botvinnik 9 Reuben Fine 10 (tie) Akiba Rubinstein, Harry Nelson Pillsbury...

14 Dog Knight: I too am rooting for Bu Xiangzhi. Unfortunately, even in his own country, he is not very popular. Every time he walks into a room to play his game he gets booed. That's so sad...

14 Dog Knight: Hey I heard Carlsen was arrested this morning. He took the blame for a crime committed by one of his grandmaster friends. He was arrested for Karjackin... He got 10 years plus another two for telling the judge at his sentencing to "Kramnik where the sun don't shine." Good ...

14 Dog Knight: Capablanca probably wouldn't be champion today...he'd be too busy chasing after Alexandra Kosteniuk
