Been playing chess for about 30 years, played in my first USCF tnmt in Dec, 1977. Peaked at 1963 in the early 1980's. Haven't played much at the USCF level since around mid-1980's. I am half Japanese and my favorite players are Garry Kasparov and Hikaru Nakamura. In my opinion the best in history were: 1 Garry Kasparov 2 J R Capablanca 3 Bobby Fischer 4 Paul Morphy 5 Anatoly Karpov 6 Alexander Alekhine 7 Emmanuel Lasker 8 Akiba Rubinstein 9 Paul Keres 10 Wilhelm Steinitz

update: (March 14, 2013: If Magnus wins the title he will definitely be on the list)

When I joined I had 14 dogs that I'd rescued over the years. Currently (as of April 15, 2011) I have 11. I have a myspace showcasing my dogs: http://www.myspace.com/13dogknight

14DogKnight: John Patty was a master and member of my old chess clubs in Riverside and San Bernardino, CA. He was a psychiatrist by trade and a 9-time Toronto Champion if I remember correctly.

   Mar-14-13 Perry Youngworth

14DogKnight: I don't know why Perry gave up chess. He had such tremendous talent. At the age of 16, he won the American Open. I used to watch him play IM David J Strauss in blitz all the time at the Riverside Chess Club. He destroyed David, who was California State Champion. There is no ...

14DogKnight: Well, my point is that quality decisive games are more exciting than quality draws.

14DogKnight: <Lambda: <Was Euwe stronger than Alekhine?> For a short time, yes. He had the best overall yearly rating in 1934 and 1935, and became world #1.> All the greats lost games, including world champions. Using that logic, everyone that ever beat Kasparov, Fischer, ...

14DogKnight: <Jambow:Obama + media vs weak barely conservative who fought for a win about like Peter Leko, and still barely lost. Yes 1955 would probably be much better we weren't broke financially or morally but I would settle for 1985. Yes I do weep for my kids and what we did to them ...
