   Jun-07-12 DeFirmian vs C Bleis, 2005 (replies)

Adriano Saldanha: Dr. Nick de Firmian's immortal! Wonderful piece of art!

Adriano Saldanha: I don't know if he'd been chatted yet here, but it is always important to mention George Allan Thomas when discussing tennis & chess.

   May-27-12 Shirov vs G Ginsburg, 2005

Adriano Saldanha: Its funny that after much thinking I thought the crushing move was 32.Be7. After 32 ...Rxd6 33.cxd6 there is no defence against 34.Qf6+ since the e5 square is protected. Than I saw `Timeline` kibitz and noticed that 32.Be5 does just the same!!!

   Apr-06-12 T Cop vs S Drazic, 2010 (replies)

Adriano Saldanha: Except for the rook which the Bishop's last minute uncovering allowed it to protect the d3 square, the Knight would recapture the white queen... a miscalculation even in the expert level. But the victory was worthy!
