May-23-05 Bagirov vs Gufeld, 1960 (replies)

Alaric: What a blunder was Rxc2?? but black's position was probably lost anyway

Apr-11-05 Adams vs Gelfand, 1988 (replies)

Alaric: wow! 19...Nxb2!! is fabulous. After 20.Kxb2? Ba3+!! 21.Kxa3 (not Kb1(a1) Qc3) Qc3+! 22.Nb3 a4!, white is surely finished. Why did Adams play so badly after Nxb2. Could he have lost hope?

   Mar-26-05 Fischer vs R H Steinmeyer, 1963 (replies)

Alaric: 13...Qf4+?, 14...Nc5?, 16 Ne5!! 17 Rdf1! and then after 17...Qxg3, 18 Rxf2 black has to deal with the threats of Rf3 and Nxf7

   Jan-26-05 Veniamin Sozin (replies)

Alaric: I think it was Sozin who created it, and Fischer who made it popular!

   Jan-26-05 Waitzkin vs E Frumkin, 1987 (replies)

Alaric: in chessmaster 9000, josh actually annotates this game in the classroom

   Jan-25-05 D Mussanti vs V Varadi, 2001

Alaric: the correct move is 10 fxe6!

Jan-15-05 Fischer vs Benko, 1959 (replies)

Alaric: notice how black can't play 18...f5?? because after 19 c3!! black would have to play 19...Qxc3 or else if the queen moves off the a1-h8 diagonal for instance 19...Qd7?? 20 Nh5 forces mate

   Jan-09-05 Fischer vs J A Rubinetti, 1970 (replies)

Alaric: Thanks,it really helped me

   Jan-09-05 Sicilian, Najdorf (B98) (replies)

Alaric: I think black wants to prevent 9 Bc4! which gives white a lot of pieces to attack with

Jan-06-05 Smyslov vs Fischer, 1970 (replies)

Alaric: 13...Qf6! is a pawn sacrifice that lets black have much more compensation for it than he needed
