Hey, i'm 18 years old and have been playing chess ever since i can remember!

   Apr-08-04 Uncommon King's Pawn Opening (B00) (replies)

Aliasad: 2..a5 has all the hallmarks of a bad opening move. Doesn't attack any piece, doesn't occupy or attack the center, doesn't open the lines for piece development. On the other hand i must say that the Nimzowitch defence is a defence which you can really create your own opening style ...

   Mar-09-04 Sicilian, 2.f4 and 2.d4 (B21) (replies)

Aliasad: Hey guys, looking for a good anti-(open)-sicilian defense? Check out the closed sicilian;1.e4 c5 2.Nc3.

   Mar-06-04 21st Linares (2004) (replies)

Aliasad: Yeah Judit Polgar would make things interesting, but Anand definately should be invited next year. Where on the web can I get the final players standing in this tounament?

   Feb-28-04 S Ali vs A Rizouk, 2001

Aliasad: Interesting game, a mixture of the Berlin and Exchange variations of the Ruy Lopez. Its surprising that white wins even though his opponent has an Elo 300 points greater than his own.

Feb-19-04 Shirov vs Kasparov, 2004 (replies)

Aliasad: Kaspy may just sac the b2 rook for the white bishop.

   Feb-19-04 Caro-Kann (B10) (replies)

Aliasad: drukennight, black playing 8.. g6 is a big mistake and a good player would probably avoid it. 8.. Nf6 is more solid and keeps white behind on material but the pressure on blacks king is still quite heavy.

   Feb-17-04 English, Symmetrical (A30) (replies)

Aliasad: blunder maker, 5... Ne4 seems like a straightforward blunder to me, what am I missing? Hey Bunti, from my (very little) experience of this opening, I would say that the symmetrical english is a solid line for black and leads to games that are quite tactically interesting with a lot

   Feb-01-04 King's Indian Defense (E60) (replies)

Aliasad: Hey guys. I'm 18 and have been playing chess for awhile but ALL of the games i've played against human opponents have been 1. e4 e5 games. Recently have been checking out 1.d4 and the KID. I was wondering why back usually plays e4 or c4, is it to open up the center or are there ...
