My name is Arturo, i really admire Kasparov, Karpov, Capablanca, Tal and Fischer, altough i dont think he is the best player in the world, i hate 20 move draws and want to keep improving my stile. Preferences as white is 1.-c4 and Nf3, i have a really huge hole as white, i feel more confortable as black. As black i usually accept the queens gambit or going for a good slav defense and, i might even get out a VERY orthodox queens gambit declined defense. Against e4 i am all double king's pawn defenses, from the Petroff to the Ruy Closed, the Ruy open, the Berlin defense (which is my favorite) the Marshall gambit (which i use only to try opening traps), and almost everithing that cames out from 1.-e4? e5!!. I hate the Two knights defense and i normally play Bc5 against the giouco piano, so if you are thinking you can use any gambit such as b4 or c3, try it, it will fail i know those lines extremely well and i pray to play against them as black. I know virtually everithing with 1.-...e5, the only thing i hate is the danish, out of that i am all open for getting opening equality within 15 moves.

Sometimes i might use the King's gambit, but i am not agressive, i use it cause i KNOW IT, i know all the lines and most theory, i use it as a surprise weapon, i often win with it but i feel uncofortable with the position, cause my victories with it are mostly "homework", home preparation.

Favorite players are:
Kasparov: Balanced
Karpov: Positional
Petrosian: if i am black you can either draw or draw
Korchnoi: Iron man!
Tal: The greatest atacker of all times, hail the sacrifices. Spassky: the last knight of the King's gambit
Capablanca: Pure depurated chess style
Fischer: 1.-e4! c5? 2.-Nf3!! 1-0
Carlos Torre Repetto: The greatest Mexican player of all times Grunfeld: Openings, openings, openings!
I am 17 years old and have a two years playing chess.

Favorite phrases are

1.-e4!! and white wins

"the sicilian is the most varonil answer against the arrogant 1.-e4"

And this one from one of my favorite players:
"While there is a will of sacrifice there is a way of sacrifice" Mikhail Tal

By the way, Fischer was a player unable to defeat:
a)Mikhail Tal
b)Anatoly Karpov
c)Garry Kasparov
Those of you who do not think the same...common, the guy was afraid!

I forgot to tell you: my favorite player is

MIKHAIL TAL

-He kicked Fischer's but, he was spectacular and returned chess as an art, he reivindicated neorommanticism!

My favorite tournament game, i played white, and i won!, but the opening is just delitious:

1.-e3! e5??
2.-e4!!! Nf6
3.-Nc3 Bb4
4.-Nf3 0-0
5.-Nxe5! and white went to win on 43 moves, i loved that tournament game :)

   Aug-13-10 M Bartel vs M Sieciechowicz, 2010

ArturoRivera: In spanish IM international Master is MI (Maestro Internacional). Therefore <chessgames> i suggest the pun MI Bartel vs GM Sieciechowicz because since the second player won he was better so the first was a IM and the second a GM.

   Jun-07-10 G Ilivitsky vs Aronin, 1952

ArturoRivera: <Chessgames.com> Since Lev Aronin seems like "Levon Aronian" but a little bit cut, couldnt it make a good pun? "beati Aronin"

Oct-08-08 Alekhine vs Nimzowitsch, 1930 (replies)

ArturoRivera: In this variation i think black clearly qualize in simple fashion: 1.-e4 e6 2.-d4 d5 3.-Nc3 Bb4 4.-e5 c5 4.-Ad2 cxd4 5.-Nb5 Bf8! and white has no advantage after all.

Oct-06-08 Glucksberg vs Najdorf, 1929 (replies)

ArturoRivera: After Kxh2 simply Ng4+ and Qxg5, no analisis needed, simply a healty pawn up, initiative and some matting netts on the air.

ArturoRivera: I was triying to calculate 19.-exd6, but i simply have no clue how to continue. Of course (and this is my fast whithout computer analysis), i tought at first sight that after 19.-exd6 gxh6 white win's forced. 19.-exd6 gxh6 20.-gxh6+ Kf8 21.-Rg8+ Kxg8 22.-dxe7 f5 ...

   Nov-21-06 Anatoly Karpov (replies)

ArturoRivera: does karpov have played even one time the interesting position on the zaitsev that arises after 1.-e4 e5 2.-Nf3 Nc6 3.-Bb5 a6 4.-Ba6 Nf6 5.-0-0 Be7 6.-Re1 b5 7.-Bb3 d6 8.-c3 0-0 9.-h3 Bb7 10.-d4 Re8 11.-Nd2 Bf8 12.-a4 h6 13.-Bc2 exd4 14.-cxd4 Nb4 ...

Aug-30-06 The World vs A Nickel, 2006 (replies)

ArturoRivera: In the may lines of the dragon white get a nice chance to win, so black, but everybody agrees that the dragon (as we know it) its not very popular at the highest level, and there must be a reason. If arnold gets into a dragon, i propose we crush him into a tacktical show. :P ...

ArturoRivera: "And i am a materiaal girl" Maddona, nice song. Nice pun.

   Jul-19-06 Grunfeld (D85) (replies)

ArturoRivera: where can i get free opening theory? specially the grunfeld, but any other its welcomed.
