Mar-18-05 Botvinnik vs Ragozin, 1932 (replies)

Chesnutt: Wow! It is not often that one sees a completely unforced blunder by a GM. This game should be reassuring to all of us patzers. Botvinnik notes in his "One Hundred Selected Games" that he played only 11 games in 1932, all of them in the USSR championship that Sept. I'll bet this was

Jan-25-05 Ngoc Truongson Nguyen vs E Krivoborodov, 2001

Chesnutt: I see 46. Bb3 as a drawn game, but the recorded move 46. Bd7 is a clear loss for White since the a3 pawn can no longer be stopped. Am I missing something here?

   Jan-23-05 Kotsiev vs W Ivanov, 1976 (replies)

Chesnutt: My opponent found a better 9th move: 1. Nf3 d5 2. g3 b6 3. Bg2 Bb7 4. O-O e6 5. d3 Be7 6. Nbd2 Nf6 7. e4 dxe4 8. Nxe4 Nxe4 9. Ne5 Nd6 10. Bxb7 Nxb7 11. Qf3 O-O 12. Qxb7 Qd5 13. Qxd5 exd5 14. d4 f6 15. Nd3 c5 16. Re1 Kf7 17. Nf4 Rd8 18. Ne6 Rd7 19. c3 Nc6 20. b3 Re8 21. dxc5 ...

   Oct-15-04 R Zunker vs C Braun, 1999

Chesnutt: White would seem to win after 35. Nd7, seizing initiative and gaining material w/simultaneous attack on W, R, and B. If Black forces Q swap, White gains at least a B if not a R. At worst, White would seem to win the exchange.
