I am a 21 year old southern California native studying biology. I have an 1800 USCF rating achieved through gambit and sacrifice plays.

Because I am so in love with games that make you scratch your head, my favorite chess champion is Mikhail Tal.

My favorite and most utilized opening is the Kurjatko Gambit which is played 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 b5!?. The opening came to mind when I was reading "My System", and I found the opening name on google. I've been playing it ever since.

Eatmysacs: Jaenisch is a fascinating player. His risky behavior over the board spawned some very interesting gambits today, including the Jaenisch Gambit, 1. c4 b5. Also the Schliemann-Jaenisch Gambit, 1. e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5 f5 4.Nc3 fxe4 5.Nxe4 d5 6.Ne5 dxe4 7.Nxc6.

Eatmysacs: 18. fxe8=N+ wasn't unnecessary. I am glad black promoted to knight in this situation rather than promote to queen (which would have given the same mate). It's the subtle things that make a game fun.
