Jan-21-12 Ivanchuk vs Aronian, 2012 (replies)
Edoneill: May the best man win!
Jan-12-12 Botvinnik vs G Stepanov (Schneideman), 1930 (replies)
Edoneill: The puzzle yesterday was a trapped queen puzzle too and this was my 1st instinct here too. Got looking more though and got a little obsessed with the weakness on f7, completely forgot about the possibility to trap the queen and didn't solve the puzzle. Always go with your gut ...
   Jan-02-12 I Abraham vs G Janny, 1923 (replies)
Edoneill: Nice mating motif.
Aug-29-11 Gligoric vs Smyslov, 1953 (replies)
Edoneill: Nice game, good way to wrap it up. White just has no chance.
   Aug-29-11 Balanel vs Larsen, 1956
Edoneill: Nice game. Black really bided his time well, took a few risks with the pawns, then used the free space to move his big guns in. Nice to see a game with 4 queens at the end too!
   Aug-29-11 P Parfenov vs L Pan Zhang, 2008
Edoneill: A similar opening occurred in a game I was playing as black. Ended up losing. I think capturing the Knight on d4 (8...Nxd4 instead of 8...Re8) when it's possible is probably better as those two Knights can be troublesome. Ended up making a huge blunder to lose so could maybe have ...
   Feb-27-11 J Esser vs Marshall, 1911 (replies)
Edoneill: Black sacrifices the exchange and a pawn for some amazing play with the pawns. Just unstoppable. A really dangerous attack by black, if I tried that in a game I'd be beaten black and blue and left for dead by white. Well done Marshall!
   Jan-16-11 A Teloeken vs G Welling, 1996 (replies)
Edoneill: An insane puzzle. Thinking about a mate in 7 on a Sunday is a little too much for me. Nice finish by black though.
Jan-11-11 Marshall vs Rubinstein, 1906 (replies)
Edoneill: Nice example of gxf6 to create a winning position for black. White ends up losing his bishop in the ensuing melee and the game along with it.
   Jan-02-11 Gufeld vs L Espig, 1980 (replies)
Edoneill: A very nice position. Just shows that sometimes just going for a draw is the objective. I struggled to get some play from 25. Nf3 but 25...Bg6 seemed too good a move. I wasn't sure but maybe after 25. Nf3 Bg6 26. Qg4 something might be possible but I wasn't sure. If anyone can ...
