GaeBulg: Thursday = Thor's Day

   Jul-06-11 P Beggi vs G Bocchicchio, 1994 (replies)

GaeBulg: I first looked for some zugzwang positions, but with the knight, I couldn't find a way to set it up. After I looked for a way to break the fortress, and it seems that Bh5 does the trick.

   Apr-20-11 M Vachier-Lagrave vs I Nepomniachtchi, 2011 (replies)

GaeBulg: I saw Rf7, but that's no good as I missed some of black's defenses...I did not see the Rg7 sac. I saw: 36. Rf7 Rh6 37. Rd7 Which I thought was winning, but I missed 37...Qb5 which ruins my plans...

   Jan-31-11 Hikaru Nakamura (replies)

GaeBulg: If Naka passes 2785, would he be the highest ever rated American? I only know Fischer got to 2785, did any other Americans beat that? I mean, of course there's rating inflation, but still, could be interesting.

   Oct-20-10 J Klinger vs Glek, 1990 (replies)

GaeBulg: I saw the forced mate moderately quickly...but I spent some time looking at if black declined the sac Qc8+ with Nf8...And it took me a while to realize after Nf8, black's queen is hanging. haha

   Sep-27-10 A Burns vs Blackburne, 1885 (replies)

GaeBulg: I thought it was White to move...didn't work out too well haha.

Apr-05-10 Cochrane vs Somacarana, 1856 (replies)

GaeBulg: This is a mate in 6...but I didn't think a Monday puzzle should be so hard. I only saw 29...Qf3+ 30 Kh4 (if Rxf3 Rxh2#) Bf6+ 31. Bg5 (forced) Qxd3 winning the white queen. I figured that would be the best move if the guy avoided the mate; however, there is a mate in 6...so I guess ...

Mar-29-10 Smyslov vs Lutikov, 1960 (replies)

GaeBulg: I did see the continuation 28. Qxg7+ Kxg7 29. Nh5+ forking the Queen...but I saw that white won no material for that play and merely traded off material. This made me think that this continuation was wrong and that there was a superior one. I couldn't find any, so I gave up lol.

Mar-18-10 Judit Polgar vs Arkell, 1988 (replies)

GaeBulg: This is about the first thursday puzzle that I've gotten...

   Mar-14-10 D Botto vs L Christiansen, 1975 (replies)

GaeBulg: I saw Qxe3, but I missed the game's defense for White...
