No rating. I love Alekhine's games but Kere's character - his work ethic and attitude through difficult circumstances and dissapointments. Also love viewing Paul Morphy's combinational brilliancies. A fan of the "Halloween Attack" - which I learned about at this site.

   Jan-24-15 Cochrane vs Mohishunder, 1851
Gambit All: Great Knight moves in tough positions by Cochrane.
   Jan-27-14 A Mandi vs P Dani, 2002 (replies)
Gambit All: This was Peter Dani's final game. Attila came after him with a battle axe moments later
Dec-14-13 Capablanca vs Alekhine, 1913 (replies)
Gambit All: Alekhine was years ahead of his time in terms of analytical technique. On the table before him is the very first smartphone running the original version of Fritz in this game. No one knew - but unfortunately the technology was primitive, crashed too much and put him in time ...
Dec-09-13 Zukertort vs Chess Club, 1868 (replies)
Gambit All: Knight 13 it's only been 'Game of the Day' for a few minutes... A nice finish but overall I thought the game was rather lame. Lots of stalling moves then black blunders away a Rook for Bishop exchange. Zuke is underappreciated and it is a good positional game from the 'Romantic ...

Gambit All: A little R & R.
   Apr-07-13 Alekhine vs A Kaufmann, 1919 (replies)
Gambit All: Man on the Moon was actually a tribute song to Andy Kaufman by REM. The movie title came from the song.

Gambit All: Why not 25.♖xd4?
   Apr-02-13 Euwe vs Colle, 1926
Gambit All: Euwe castling Queenside was very strange. Colle, beginning with 14...Rc8 and the threat of the discovered check, just overwhelms him. 15...Bxa3 is another textbook Colle Bishop Sac.
   Mar-31-13 J Langreck vs J Easter, 1997 (replies)
Gambit All: Black's troubles start on his 6th move, ♗d7 - d7 is the natural retreat square for the f6 Knight. When white avoids the bishop exchange and pushes the e pawn, he leaves black no good square to redeploy the Knight. Black's pieces never get coordinated and his pawn structure ...
