Mar-18-13 World Championship Candidates (2013) (replies)

Gazman5: Ivanchuk has tried to be creative in his 2 losses which I have a lot of respect for. In the press conference he gave the appearance of a wounded lion, a creature that can be very dangerous. He has Black against Gelfand after the rest day and I think Boris should be quite nervous ...

Mar-16-13 Radjabov vs Ivanchuk, 2013 (replies)

Gazman5: From what I could see just off to the side of the board it seemed like Vassily didn't realise how short of time he was. When Radjabov played a move (I think it was 32.Qa5)and hit the clock with him still needing to make 9 moves in 20s to reach the control, he started writing the ...

Gazman5: Looking forward to going and seeing this game live. After yesterday's 4 draws hopefully will get to see first blood in the race to be the challenger.

Gazman5: W Jones ( W Jones ) is in fact William E G Jones (b 1993), older brother of Victor G L Jones ( Victor Jones ). Having played against both of them in the past I can say for certain that the W Jones who played a game in 1971 is a different W Jones.

Gazman5: Might be a combative Najdorf today :)

Oct-12-06 Kramnik vs Topalov, 2006 (replies)

Gazman5: Is it me or has the phenomenon in the last 2 decades of easy short draws without much effort resulted in a lessening in endgame technique of many modern "top" players? Kranmik seems to have very good endgame technique wheras Topalov seems to occasionally commit serious errors.

Oct-05-06 Kramnik vs Topalov, 2006 (replies)

Gazman5: from the clocks, maybe Topalov is still heading down an avenue that his preparation indicated as a possibility

Gazman5: Latest seems to be partial agreement, but no game today
