   Aug-15-17 Degraeve vs J Tomczak, 2006 (replies)

Goato: <al wazir> in your line white has 23.Bf4 The black Q can not cover Be5 and Qxf8 which will lead to mate.

   Nov-10-13 D Hamilton vs J Kellner, 1963 (replies)

Goato: <JG27Pyth><fokers13> I think after 26.Qxg5+ Kh7 27.Rf6? it will be white who gets mated starting with 27... Nd3+. The white Q no longer protects c2. I failed today, spent ages trying to make 17. Nxd5 followed by 18 e6 work. I thought about e4 but could not how to make any ...

Dec-11-12 Jobava vs Bareev, 2003 (replies)

Goato: Having read the posts above I am not sure anyone really addressed what would happen after 15...Nxd5. Glek vs J Willemze, 2003 saw 16.Ne4 Qb6 when white played 17.c4!? with just enough compensation to draw. Playing around with this variation in Stockfish I think the thematic 17. g4!? ...

   Jun-03-08 G MacDonnell vs Bird, 1872 (replies)

Goato: i just re-enacted this game on line. white seems to be wiining so easily but Bb5 is a beauty. I must confess to using the opening database tho. I'm buggered if I could navigate a muzio otb. Chessgames has much to aswer for when online chess is concerned (particularly openings), cannot

   Mar-31-08 G Kaiser vs Carlsen, 2000 (replies)

Goato: <RandomVisitor> How does 23.f4 put white back in the game? After Qe8 the e pawn looks unstoppable (even if it means giving up the exchange)

   Oct-29-07 J Bizjak vs M Varini, 2002

Goato: 24. ... Black to play would make a good puzzle. The first move is calling to you but 26...Rxb3! that's a toughy. I like the pawn sac earlier on f3 too forcing open the long diagonal, a nice KID.

   Apr-26-07 Szabo vs M Cebalo, 1987

Goato: Cute, I wonder how early Laszlo saw Rc5? It certainly came as a shock to me.

   Dec-08-06 Andrew Jonathan Mestel (replies)

Goato: <mack> He certainly is. He recently had an interview printed in one of the student magazines there. Apparently his favourite number is 37!

Aug-02-06 Grob vs Lenherr, 1966 (replies)

Goato: Gowe in your line what would happen if instead of 23...Bd6 23...Nd6 to block the check. This takes the e4 square away from whites queen.

   Nov-13-05 O Borik vs P Koehn, 1999

Goato: 18...Bf8 looks good to me, seems equal at any rate, i have not analysed it deeply tho. But whats with 15...Qd7? very strange.
