I am currently hosting the forum for 20...Bf8 21. Qf4 Ne5 22.Qg3. Keep it to purely chess related concerns. Keep the arguments abstract and impersonal. You can only mention individuals if they bring their own feelings or motivations into play when arguing for a line---and even then BE CIVIL. Rudeness is unproductive, and I want to win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All uncivil attacks will be edited.

Welcome all, and don't be afraid to share your ideas.

GufeldStudent: Korchnoi is just a dick---how in God's name could you say such a thing to somebody of such clear talent?

   Jan-27-09 Ivanchuk vs J Smeets, 2009 (replies)

GufeldStudent: 32. Rxb6 seems to grant white a small advantage. He could have had the better minor piece with the better pawns and given smeets a little pain in the endgame.

GufeldStudent: I thought yesterday's was harder.

GufeldStudent: Suggesting that they are cheating with Rybka is absurd. The simple used it to help with their opening preparation.

GufeldStudent: My policy is to keep banging my head until I get it. If it takes a full day of looking at it on or off, so be it.

GufeldStudent: <lonepsycho>, perhaps allowing chessbookie voting would lead to a conflict of interest.

Dec-30-07 Spiridonov vs Tal, 1969 (replies)

GufeldStudent: Rxf3 (followed by b5) is stronger than b5 immediately, I believe. Nxg2 also looks winning.

Dec-24-07 Rubinstein vs NN, 1902 (replies)

GufeldStudent: Qh6 wins just as quickly. It is just less flashy.

   Dec-16-07 Miles vs Timman, 1984

GufeldStudent: No, actually, black has no possibilities. If Nc6 (something must be done about the attacked N), then Qg6 with Rh4 to follow.

Jul-27-07 Nezhmetdinov vs Estrin, 1951 (replies)

GufeldStudent: As a combinational genius, he may be up there with them. However, Tal and Alekhine were more subtle in the way they set up there attacks---that said, Tal had a losing record against Nez.
