Apr-30-13		HeMateMe: Hello QC, thanks for stopping by. I was doing something just a step up from clerical, that required college level skills, but not a college degree. A combination of technical advancement and outsourcing reduced the need for my services by about 60%, over a ten year period. In other words, we lost 60% of our jobs, and/or people working full time ended up working part time. This said, I don't hate the multinationals who outsource. American investors put their retirement money in whichever companies have the highest earnings. That's just the way it is. I am upset though, that I think some of the multinationals, who make so much money off of cheap international labor are able to shield some of this income by headquartering offshore, or by dumping some of their profits into subsidiaries, who are somehow not on the balance sheet and not part of taxable income. I'd like to say more, but this site has so many outstanding detectives, I'm a bit leery about volunteering too much personal information.

Apr-30-13		HeMateMe: I thought Brimley was hilarious as the tough guy security officer in <The Client>. I'm sure the casting officer was trying to be serious; they didn't know that you just can't take Brimley too seriously. A woman being interviewed on the Tonight Show (a new starlet of the moment) said that she was once in a limo with Brimley, after a movie premiere or something. Unknown to the young girl, Brimley had one of these "fart balls", a ball you squeeze, that makes a fart noise, hidden in his coat pocket. Everyone else in the car was in on the joke...he would squeeze this ball every couple of blocks, and the young girl was dying of embarrasment.

Jun-03-13		Benzol: It would seem so. It's quite possible that <lamont> is mentally ill which is very sad. However, it doesn't give him a free pass to go sounding off at everyone else on the Fischer page just because there views don't align with his own.

Jun-12-13		ketchuplover: For the extra $40 you don't get anything more than anybody else imo. The site received at least $15K for improvement last year and is currently seeking $5K more. The $40 increase is punishment to those who had a chance to buy a membership at the lower rates but didn't. Frankly I'll be shocked if anyone subscribes at the higher rates. The goal may have been to keep the lower rate subscribers "locked in" at the lower rates. I would've cut the rates by 50%. Hope this helps.

Before there was The Ugly Stick (aka Candlestick Park), there was Seals Stadium that was not too far from the new ball park. In 1959, I saw the Giants beat the Phillies. I saw Willie Mays catch a ball hit off the wall BEFORE it hit the ground and hold the batter to a single! Seals Stadium was what they used to call a bandbox. I told you I was old! If Mays played now they would have give him his own state. And a good one, too, NOT California. OK, I suppose I have to do some politics since we are on Rogoff. Here goes: What is everyone's take on the new President of Iran, Rowhani? Meet the new boss, same as the old boss? I was under the impression that the mullahs ran Iran.

The 'stick before every stadium had to be named after the corporate sponsor. We still have Lambeau field in green bay, and Soldiers field in Chicago. If you saw Willie Mays, then you saw a real ball player, before all these worthless bastards hurt the game with steroids and human growth hormone. They would have injected bat sh** into themselves if it would have made them some more money. Lay off the beef blood, Bruce!

Jun-17-13		Jim Bartle: I saw many games at Seals Stadium, with the giant glass of Hamm's Beer behind home plate, filling and re-filling. Remember Cepeda in left, turning to answer the fans who were yelling at him between pitches. Also saw an exhibition between the Red Sox and the minor league SF Seals in 1957.

Jun-17-13		kingfu: Prime example of bad stuff just on the Giants : Find a picture of Barry Bonds when he played for the Pirates. He weighed 180 and hit many home runs but mostly doubles just like dad Bobby who played next to Mays. Cut to Barry on The Giants weighing 235. Gee, I didn't know eating Wheaties could do that. Or maybe it was something else. Barry then or 'roided was (and is) an a$$. Sat by himself in the locker room with headphones. Mays (and Hank Aaron) both weighed 175. In 1950 and 1980. After SF, I moved to Seattle. Ken Griffey, Jr was largely ignored with 630 lifetime NATURAL Home Runs. It should have been lots more but Griffey could not keep from bashing into the Center field wall and missing many games due to injury. Did I mention I also lived in LA. Ever see Koufax pitch? I have some catching up to do!
