JCigan has kibitzed 51 times to chessgames   [more...]
   Jun-20-17 Potkin vs S Melia, 2014
JCigan: This was 1-0? Really? Hard to imagine that Black would have flagged or resigned in a trivially drawn pawn ending.
Jan-01-17 Carlsen vs Karjakin, 2016 (replies)
JCigan: There was no repetition as far as I can see
Jul-21-15 Eljanov vs Navara, 2015 (replies)
JCigan: I assume he meant 46. Nxf4, and although that looks pretty bleak for White it's pretty surprising that Eljanov would play Re4 instead lol
Jun-29-15 Yifan Hou vs Kramnik, 2015 (replies)
JCigan: <luzhin> False, 13. Nc4 Qd3 and White is just fighting for equality. No pawn.
Feb-02-14 Carlsen vs Caruana, 2014 (replies)
JCigan: Unusual to see a Berlin from Caruana... he's usually all about sharper Lopez lines, like the Open Spanish, Archangel, or Zaitsev
Feb-01-14 Nakamura vs Carlsen, 2014 (replies)
JCigan: The salient point is that White was winning by force lol
   Jan-11-14 Vugar Gashimov (replies)
JCigan: R.I.P. Vugar :( Gone too soon but won't be forgotten
   Oct-17-13 Bacrot vs A Giri, 2013 (replies)
JCigan: <Everett> The structure is not even close to the same as a Vitolinsh Bogo-Indian, wow. Somebody call all the 2700+s in the world, 3... Bd7 is refuted
Sep-13-13 Aronian vs Nakamura, 2013 (replies)
JCigan: See now that it's a Benoni structure, the knight can come to f3 without being pinned, and White will probably retake on d5 with exd5 after ...e6 and ...exd5, aiming for a small plus
   Aug-27-13 Harikrishna vs Aronian, 2001
JCigan: Move order must have been wrong; taking on d2 right away is simply a loss of a tempo and Aronian would never have played it. Also, no other reason White would have played the later a2-a3. Surely 4... c5 5. a3 Bxd2+ was how it went
