Aug-06-17 Larsen vs Unzicker, 1966 (replies)

JohnDMaster: I am proud of myself, I had not seen this game before and I was forced to find the answer based on white is getting ready to win and black has the mating pattern with Bh2 etc. Be5! is the only move that makes sense and Qh3!! threatens mate. Then mate on f2 or h1 is the finish

   Jul-12-17 I Nepomniachtchi vs E Inarkiev, 2017 (replies)

JohnDMaster: What?? My head is still spinning.

   May-03-17 W Horner vs J A Leonard, 1860 (replies)

JohnDMaster: I really would like to understand Chris Owen

   Apr-28-17 Sutovsky vs D Anton Guijarro, 2017

JohnDMaster: Correct Murky but that is typical of Sutovsky's style, he plays much like Tal, you have to figure it out over the board and solve the problems that are presented, I had the feeling something was up but I did not catch 22...Nd4! Everything seems to hold.

   Apr-27-17 G Jones vs R Praggnanandhaa, 2017

JohnDMaster: ouch! It looks like white was winning but had to be careful, could have been time pressure.

   Apr-20-17 K H Podzielny vs G Diez, 2007 (replies)

JohnDMaster: Easy solve, pretty much only one line to worry about.

   Apr-18-17 A Anastasian vs L Babujian, 2008 (replies)

JohnDMaster: Thank you Once, I was waiting for someone to point out that Rg3 leads to forced mate in all lines including the queen block on g5!

   Apr-09-17 Caruana vs Shabalov, 2017

JohnDMaster: I think the dragadorf was too risky of a choice against Fabiano

   Jan-28-17 M Ragger vs J van Foreest, 2017 (replies)

JohnDMaster: Insane!

   Jan-03-17 S P Sethuraman vs J S Thybo, 2016 (replies)

JohnDMaster: 37... Nc2!!!
