Play on the ICC. Looking to play folks in the 1350-1750 range. Like slow time control. Enjoy match's where we play up to a certain number of wins. First to win four, five, ect. Draws not counting, time controls of 120 minutes for 40 moves, or with increments, using 45/45, or 30/30.

Jun-21-07		Joshka: Maybe if Vlad can't play, why not extend an invite to Korchnoi, or Spassky......Spassky was just given a "condo" in Elista, for his lifetime achievements in chess, Korchnoi has been playing like a man who's blind to "father-time".

Took Evan out today with Larry to help him with his driving test, he can do it, just needs a little patience. If you're in cahoots with the "driving Angel"....make sure he or she is reminded that he goes for his test Friday, the 24th. The old house you built is still holding up just fine, it never ceases to amaze me how ya did it! But I'm so thankfull you did!:-).....I'm not all too sure you'll get this, but hoping you do......it's written, these cyber air/waves, or whatever....are controlled by "the prince and power of the air"....but all is still a mystery for us all still around down here. Again, this day reminded me of you, and just to let you know, when we gathered at Sues's house after the funeral, the phone did ring loud and clear! Jan-14-12		Phony Benoni: <Joshka> Sorry, but I can't seem to find information as to the actual site of the 1957 US Open in Cleveland. One possible suggest: if you have from CD-ROM from USCF containing the issues of Chess Life and Chess Review, go through the early issues of 1957 and see if you can find an ad for the tournament. That should mention the site. By the way, you may have noticed that I had two alternate crosstables for the 1957 US Open in the collection. I have now removed one, and feel the correct one is left.

Feb-14-13		juan31: joshka: i read years a go a note in a spanish magazine of chess writen for a GM from Spain ( i go to try to find the isue and the name of the magazine) he talk of a "guest" that "play out of this galaxy" in internet this master and some friend make a analisis whit computers of some games of this "guest" and concluded, not was a program, one day they ask "who are you?" to the guest and only respond a "excentric player" i dont now if was o not true, but he thing that this "guest" was GMI of chess R. Feb-20-13		Phony Benoni: <Joshka> On another page some time ago, you asked about tournament pages for the Lone Pine events. We finally have one: Lone Pine (1975) By far the biggest hang-up for these (and many other tournaments) is the unavailabliity for specific dates for individual rounds. You'd think that information would be routinely available, but it's not. I have the Lone Pine bulletins for 1978, 1979, and 1980, but there is not a single round date to be found. This is important because the game list on the tournament pages is arranged by date of the game. Without dates, the order of games is somewhat random. A few tournaments have been pushed through without dates, but we much prefer to have them if at all possible. By the way, the Lone Pine tournaments were never all-GM tournaments, nor where they designed to be. The main goal was to give U.S. masters, particularly juniors, a chance to meet international-level competition. In later years, they were altered to provide title norm chances for U.S. players.
