LameJokes55: For quite some time, Giri has been trying to get his mojo back. Without success. Perhaps, he could take a leaf out of Radyabov's book.

   Apr-27-18 A Giri vs Carlsen, 2018 (replies)

LameJokes55: In recent times, Giri has gotten ambitious. At Wijk Aan Zee/Tata Steel, he played a sporting game against Carlsen. Here, he wanted to win so that he could be in sole lead. Alas, the attempt backfired on him. At least, the idea was right in principle.

Apr-15-18 GRENKE Chess Classic (2018) (replies)

LameJokes55: Thanks Sally for the Vaganian Vs Planinc game. What a beauty! Reminds us of none other than Morphy.

Apr-09-18 Vitiugov vs Caruana, 2018 (replies)

LameJokes55: Talking of unconventional, MC placed passive bishops at be7 and bd7; took king for a stroll ke8, d8, c8 and b8. MVL didn't play c4 in queen's pawn opening and moved queen to d3. Cracking last round.

   Apr-07-18 M Vachier-Lagrave vs Caruana, 2018 (replies)

LameJokes55: Yeah. Fabi is playing like dream since the candidates. Congrats the challenger!

LameJokes55: In the 16th game of their w.c. match (1985), Karpov moved his knight from k-side (ng1) to q-side (nb1). The flight ng1, nf3, nd4, nb5, na3 and nb1 looked impressive. Unfortunately, the trend never caught on, since he lost the game.

Apr-05-18 Anand vs Caruana, 2018 (replies)

LameJokes55: In chess alone, it clears up so soon. If it were city roads, the jam could last till second time control.

   Apr-03-18 Carlsen vs M Vachier-Lagrave, 2018 (replies)

LameJokes55: 1.a3 would be no surprise from Magnus. 2.Ra2 sure will be.

Mar-31-18 World Championship Candidates (2018) (replies)

LameJokes55: Bobby Fisher was just 29, when he became the world champion. It was an era, where players from Soviet Union dominated the world chess. After FIDE came into being and in the non-computerized-chess age, he was the only one who had this distinction. Here non-computerized-chess age ...

Mar-27-18 Grischuk vs Caruana, 2018 (replies)

LameJokes55: Yes RT! It's scary to be refused the draw a pawn up!
