Hi. I'm a chess fan, but a fairly weak player (OTB 1300)

The legends whose games interest me the most are: Paul Morphy, Mikhail Tal, Bent Larsen and R.J. Fischer. I also like N. Short, J. Speelman, V. Anand and the 2 K's. Of late I've become a fan of Tigran Petrosian.

I won a blindfold game against a friend once (I was, he wasn't). That was both quite unexpected and quite funny! Full Member

LucB: Goodness, whatever happened to: "In the opening, get your knights and bishops out, castle, and don't make too many pawn moves"?

LucB: It's Kramnik's mug that's the worst! I wonder if the order of the pictures (left-to-right, right-to-left, in a zig-zag pattern starting from the centre) will somehow be correlated to the final standings... one can always speculate!

LucB: "Wow, 'gotta love pawns!" - Philidor Well, maybe not a direct quote, but close enough! ;-D

LucB: Is it: d8=Q# ??

LucB: It's interesting to note that the young Indian Praggnanandhaa won all 4 games he played with white.

LucB: <Es posible que Carlsen sabe mas que yo.> MUY posible!

LucB: <Chess24 are charging for live video? Dream on!> You can view it the next day on YT. There's no footage of the players, just the commentators Gustafsson and Svidler analysing and making jokes (especially Gustfasson).

LucB: <What the heck am I missing?> Nothing. It's a mate-in-x after 26. Qxf6, with x<6 I'm sure (sorry I'm still in exam marking mode!).
