Hi. I'm a chess fan, but a fairly weak player (~1400)

The legends whose games interest me the most are: Paul Morphy, Mikhail Tal, Bent Larsen and R.J. Fischer. I also like N. Short, J. Speelman, V. Anand and the 2 K's.

I won a blindfold game against a friend once (I was, he wasn't). That was both quite unexpected and quite funny! Full Member

LucB: Well that was fun!

LucB: I'm amazed at the live video coverage of this event... ... But not in a good way.

LucB: <Wavy> the time control was 15+30 or 15+10 I think.

LucB: By the way, that was one miserable tournament for Caruana, no? :S
Feb-17-15 Anand vs Nakamura, 2015 (replies)
LucB: <CIO> I got the same impression too. It seemed like Nakamura was saying in essence: "I might have lost this, but I can still spew out variations faster than anybody else!"

LucB: Congratulations to WC MC! (tough tourney for my favourite Anand, though; ouch!!... oh well, there are more tournaments ahead!) The Ghashimov memorial lineup looks awesome; 'can't wait!

LucB: <PhilFeeley: Svidler took a bye to watch the England-Australia cricket match. What a trivial excuse!> One should never underestimate Svidler's love of cricket! :o)
   Jan-25-15 Tata Steel (Group B) (2015)
LucB: Wow, Navara and Shankland did quite well also! <zakkzheng: The meaning of Wei's first name, Yi, is "playing chess". Very interesting.> Really? I thought 'Yi' meant 'one' in Mandarin: 'must be a different tone then..

LucB: Congratulations to the Champ; well done! Great performances by MVL, Wesley So and Anish Giri, the latter preventing Wesley from being unbeaten in the tournament. Vasil Ivanchuk started off like a lion, and Ding Liren had the most victories, with 7.. wow! Great tournament!

LucB: I have an VHS tape of the '88 St-John Candidates, with Korchnoi playing Hjartarsson. At one point Korchnoi got up from the board, sat in the audience and started looking at the position from the screens the audience was seeing. So even the old guys do it sometimes.
