Hi. I'm a chess fan, but a fairly weak player (~1400)

The legends whose games interest me the most are: Paul Morphy, Mikhail Tal, Bent Larsen and R.J. Fischer. I also like N. Short, J. Speelman, V. Anand and the 2 K's.

I won a blindfold game against a friend once (I was, he wasn't). That was both quite unexpected and quite funny!

   Jul-03-14 Carlsen vs Anand, 2014

LucB: <One wins and one only draws. Which one?> The one on c8. It first goes to d6, then f5 and finally mates on g3. So from your above position (with a knight on c8 and white to play), we have: 1.Nd6 Kh1 2.Nf5 h2 3.Ng3#

LucB: Cool; thanks for letting me know! The "Y" was definitely LESS than $70 in the '80's when we first went there. It's like anything else I guess.

LucB: Definitely NOT a strong player!.. I'm perhaps stronger than 1400 (per my bio), but I get stumped by Wed./Thurs. puzzles.. By the way I believe you are from NY, correct? It's one of my favourite cities to visit. I've been to Manhattan about a half-dozen times. Other interesting tidbit: ...

LucB: <How come different people have played different numbers of games? Is the listing above incomplete?> Yes. Anand, for example, ended up with the same score as Caruana.

LucB: <we need a new category> 'Blindfold' or Chess960. Or how about blindfold Chess960? The first to guess the correct initial position gets white!

LucB: <and has put in a reasonably good performance at this tournament> +6 and undefeated.. pretty impressive if you ask me! Not as amazing as Carlsen's +7 but not far behind! Was his play a bit too cautious/conservative? There are some who have commented that he had advantages in some
