Jan-29-18 Lance Henderson de La Fuente vs D Dubov, 2018 (replies)

McChesser: Beautiful combination by Dubov

   Oct-24-17 V Artemiev vs S R Mkrtchyan, 2017 (replies)

McChesser: Possibly 15.cxd6 Qb7 (so that 16.Qxb2 runs into Bxf3). I can't see any other reason, so I'm assuming that's why. I should mention that 15.cxd6 Qb7 16.d7 Bf6 stops the pawn and saves the bishop.

   Oct-03-16 K H B Allen vs A Donchenko, 2016 (replies)

McChesser: Wow, what a shot! Beautiful display by Donchenko

   Oct-02-16 Caruana vs M Vachier-Lagrave, 2014

McChesser: It would have been easy enough for any one of the persons who cracked wise about my obvious slip to just type 'Nakamura B12' into the search function of this site and look at the year 2014 to find the game I meant to bring forth for discussion. But that would require some ...

   Sep-13-16 M Mosadeghpour vs K Alekseenko, 2016

McChesser: haha, I'm not sure, but it worked out beautifully. Will be interesting to analyze a bit.

Sep-08-16 Ponomariov vs Nakamura, 2016 (replies)

McChesser: Agreed, the lines with Nd7-e5 I think offer black better prospects than the Nb6-Qxb6 stuff where I think white has some small pressure. The difference is that with the queen still on a6 it is not so trivial to develop the dsb from c1 without hanging b2 (as Rb1 there is Qxa2). In ...

   Sep-06-16 D Reizniece-Ozola vs Yifan Hou, 2016 (replies)

McChesser: This is a masterpiece.

   Sep-06-16 E Hansen vs Y Gonzalez Vidal, 2016

McChesser: Beautiful game (and theoretically relevant as well). If the main idea of ...O-O is f6 (to blast open the center), then this game essentially demonstrates that this is dubious for black.

Jul-09-13 Alekhine vs Bogoljubov, 1929 (replies)

McChesser: @Galdur- I just analyzed (i.e. calculated the old fashioned way) the implications of 47.Kc6/Kc7 with the idea of running at the the black a-pawn to create a queen. I believe 47.a6 just puts another target on a light square and I don't quite see the point/plan to win behind it. ...

   Jul-02-13 M Doroshenko vs L Bruzon Batista, 2013 (replies)

McChesser: It annoys me when this opening is referenced under "Indian Game: Anti-Nimzo-Indian," when it is more specifically by some move order a modern benoni (why use negative definition when a purely positive one exists?). Another exciting win for Bruzon. This was a fantastic tournament ...
