I played chess a lot in the late 60s and early 70s, played a little in the early 80s and in the early 90s. Now retired, I am interested in playing again, though not with the hope from 45 years ago of one day becoming a very strong player. I don't remember my rating, but it was somewhere around 1750.

Mike75018: @reztap: I was 19th board at the 1972 Cleveland-Toronto chess match, held in Niagara Falls. That time also, Vukcevich defeated Vranesic on first board. I lost my game because I played stupidly. The drive back was insane due to a snowstorm. Two other CWRU students and I were driven

Mike75018: Diocletian, I also knew Dr. Vukcevich in the early 70s while I was a student at CWRU. (I also remember playing in those weekend tournaments at the Masonic Temple.) All of the nice things you said about Dr. Vukcevich are true. He was a fine gentleman and a joy to be around.
