Milesdei has kibitzed 35 times to chessgames   [more...]
Aug-23-19 Kavalek vs Matulovic, 1966 (replies)
Milesdei: I saw the first move but everything after that was beyond me, until the end, when I saw the virtuoso conclusion.
   Jan-04-19 James Moore Hanham
Milesdei: This guy has wins against Showalter, Pillsbury, and Steinitz. Not bad!
   Nov-11-17 A Chandra vs W So, 2016 (replies)
Milesdei: Aside from playing through the game before attempting to solve a puzzle, is there any way to know whether castling is still permissible?
Jun-23-17 Mamedyarov vs Van Wely, 2016 (replies)
Milesdei: The position seems an absolute mess after 17 moves so i replayed the game and stopped after 17. Nxb5. I would have played 17...Ng4 and thought I made a mistake because Van Wely chose to capture the horse on b5. RKnight has it right.
   Mar-28-17 Spassky vs M Bieler, 2009 (replies)
Milesdei: "I can kill you with my business." It's kind of funny that he brought his swagger to the patzers...It's gratuitous, but I think I'd love it if a grandmaster talked trash to me, as long as it was done in fun, and not intended to demean.
   Oct-01-16 D Boros vs V Ryzhkov, 2015
Milesdei: Everything about the position is screaming "SACRIFICE"! I saw the knight sacs in the right order but lost the thread after 18...Kd7. A gorgeous attack!
Jan-09-12 Kasparov vs Kramnik, 1994 (replies)
Milesdei: After 13. h4 why doesn't black capture with the bishop? I'm sure there's a good reason, I'm just not seeing it. Thanks for any help.
Sep-08-10 P Cherta Clos vs Guimard, 1946 (replies)
Milesdei: White is threatening mate in one but 41...g5! brings down the house! After fxg6 ep white loses his bishop. Mate follows swiftly. Nice save by black.
   Sep-05-10 Keene vs H Ardiansyah, 1979 (replies)
Milesdei: Nothing in the Constitution guarantees me the right not to be offended by someone else's speech. The pun is not gratuitous in the context of Mr. Keene's analysis.
   Jan-20-10 Nakamura vs P Hanko, 2001 (replies)
Milesdei: I started with 27 Rd1, (threatening 28 Nf6+), Qe7 28 NxB, PxN, 29 RxB and a won game for white. Am I missing something?
