Mar-06-13 D Rivera vs Fischer, 1962

Mojodomo: <morfishine>'s pointing to Fischer vs C Powell, 1964 is fantastic-- a blitz style game that would usually have spelled victory for Fischer. Nice find! Also: if you have a certain 4 star general in mind, this is not the Powell you're looking for...

Mojodomo: Seems that 32... Qb8 is the blunder that gives White this "difficult" position. Is there anything better than 32... Qa8? Looks like Black sac'd the pawn counting on the attack line Bf3+, Qa6 working out. Alas.

| | Oct-01-12 M Chommyyev vs T L Petrosian, 2012
| |
|
Mojodomo: Several kibitzers have included snatching up the h2 pawn as part of the winning line, and Chommyyev waits to resign until after Petrosian plucks it up. Why is it so important? Clearly it's a free pawn and adds to the advantage, but is there anything more going on there?

|
Mojodomo: I've got the same question as <chrisowen>:
<A 24.nf5 or door book gxf5 call bluff both look equal to me unless white has a neat tactical blow slide.> 24. Nf5 gxf5
25. gxf6 Qxf6
...seems to keep the threats under wraps, no?
p.s. First time poster, glad to be here.
