I live in Utah, but I'm simply a hobbyist. I love playing through great chess games, and I will play occasionally online, but if I had a rating, I'm afraid it would probably only contain 3 digits.

May-14-13 Nezhmetdinov vs Tal, 1957 (replies)

Oginschile: Both of these players have left us amazing gifts to study and admire, but none seem to shine brighter than when these two masters squared off against each other. I never tire of playing through this game, or this one : Nezhmetdinov vs Tal, 1961

   Feb-25-13 Fischer vs Larsen, 1970

Oginschile: Tal was one of the greatest gentleman the game of Chess has known.

Jan-29-13 Le Quang Liem vs Short, 2013 (replies)

Oginschile: Very nice zugzwang here.

Jan-17-13 Yifan Hou vs Nakamura, 2013 (replies)

Oginschile: Nakamura's defense simply flows together to magically close every corridor that Yifan opens. It seems white's attempts at aggression simply ended in a ruined position. Very solid performance from Nakamura.

   Jan-17-13 E L'Ami vs Wang Hao, 2013 (replies)

Oginschile: Great innovation, cashing in on that queenside majority. Very inventive way to clear the path for those powerful pawns!

Jan-17-13 Harikrishna vs Van Wely, 2013 (replies)

Oginschile: This end reminds me of Fisher's masterpiece against Letelier - Letelier vs Fischer, 1960 Brilliant find. Bravo Pentala!

Aug-15-12 Gligoric vs Ljubojevic, 1976 (replies)

Oginschile: Very pretty indeed.

   Jul-17-12 J Nogueiras vs W Arencibia, 1996

Oginschile: Had Nogueiras won this game, Jesus walks on Walter would have been perfect.

Jun-29-12 Smyslov vs E Jimenez Zerquera, 1965 (replies)

Oginschile: That is a combo I can honestly say I NEVER would have found on my own. Very neat.

May-17-12 Judit Polgar vs Kramnik, 1996

Oginschile: Kind of a cool little game. Looks like Judit found herself in some positional trouble, but very instructive how Kramnik time and again sidesteps the landmines Judit keeps dropping on the position. Lesser players may well have lost a limb or two in Judit's subtle counters... but ...
