   Aug-06-18 K Rohonyan vs A L'Ami, 2008 (replies)

Olsonist: Looked at it last night and gave it a rest. Saw it this morning. The rook screamed to be sac'd and it was fill in the details from there. I love Wednesdays. That and I truly appreciate Daniel Freeman for the enjoyment he has afforded me.

   Aug-02-18 Daniel Freeman (replies)

Olsonist: Thank you, Daniel, for the many puzzles and games and comments. I usually get Mondays, often Tuesdays, occasionally Wednesdays, rarely Thursdays and Friday, Saturday and Sunday only if they were misfiled. But I appreciated your work seven days a week.

Jul-31-18 Averbakh vs Kotov, 1953 (replies)

Olsonist: 38...Nxd5+ seems to prolong the game although time control may have factored in.

   Jul-26-18 Nick de Firmian

Olsonist: Played him in high school. Got crushed.

Jul-22-18 Carlsen vs Navara, 2018 (replies)

Olsonist: <is the end position really lost though?> The end position is not merely lost, it is really really lost.

Jun-30-18 Yifan Hou vs Ju Wenjun, 2017 (replies)

Olsonist: Yes, Nxa2 after 36. Re2 is even a little more brutal.

   Jun-25-18 S Platzack vs J van Baarle, 1967 (replies)

Olsonist: Don't surround yourself with yourself.

Jun-23-18 Grand Chess Tour Paris (Rapid) (2018) (replies)

Olsonist: It's the worst blunder he has committed in his career. Hmmm, it was a blunder in an already lost position in a rapid tournament in which he was doing poorly during the twilight of his stellar career. I think he'll live.

   Jun-23-18 Kramnik vs W So, 2018 (replies)

Olsonist: Blundering in a lost position results in a lost position.

   Jun-23-18 Korchnoi vs Fischer, 1970

Olsonist: A knight on the rim is looking dim. But this knight in the corner is looking ornery.
