May-08-13 Team White vs Team Black, 2013 (replies)
   May-06-13 Raymond Keene (replies)

Ron: Hello GM Keene: I was born in the US but my father came from England. So, probably expectedly, I take some interest in developments in the UK. I am impressed by this: http://www.samizdata.net/2013/05/ni...

Mar-31-13 Carlsen vs Svidler, 2013 (replies)

Ron: Another possibility is that both Kramnik and Carlsen lose.

Ron: They should make a James Bond movie with some of these women chess players.

Mar-31-13 Kramnik vs Gelfand, 2013 (replies)

Ron: Ah, but can Kramnik engineer a one rook endgame?

Mar-23-13 Carlsen vs Radjabov, 2013 (replies)

Ron: Oh my! A loss by Carlsen here would make the tournament standings very interesting...maybe Aronian should treat Radjabov to dinner.

Mar-17-13 Radjabov vs Ivanchuk, 2013 (replies)

Ron: I still have a fascination for this particular game. I was watching this game live, and after Radjabov played 15 Rd3, Ivanchuk went into a long think. 15 Rd3 put Black into a critical situation. I'm serious.

   Mar-03-13 Edward Winter

Ron: Edward Winter had an article in chessbase about hypermodernism: http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail... On the one hand, Winter spent a liitle time focusing on the use of the word 'hypermodern', which, I don't find worthwhile. But the thrust of the article is about those who ...

Feb-19-13 The World vs Akobian, 2012 (replies)

Ron: 9. c3 was the best move. Playing c4 would have given Black more freedom on the queenside. If I recall correctly, the only computer which was for 9. c3 was <RandomVisitor>'s Rybka. 9. c3 had its human advocates, <Dan> perhaps being its most outspoken advocate.

Thank you for volunteering for Voting Statistician. I listed that job as open because the one who was doing it for the last two games disappeared in the middle of the last game. He (<rebjorn>) has since reappeared and offered to do the job again. He has a system all set up to accomplish it. Do you mind if we let him do his regular job again?

Instead, I see from the second message on your forum that you hope to host some analysis on your forum. We still need some more forum hosts for the temporary (analysis) forums. Would you be willing to give that a try? If you have questions, let me know.

Aug-21-08  rebjorn: Hey Ron if you'd rather do stats then host a forum you won't hear any griping from me.
Aug-24-08  TiTi: lol, good one: "A very complicated position" ^^
