He won the 2007 World Cup and is one match away from playing for the World Championship in 2009! He's ranked 17th worldwide in the FIDE July 2008 list, with a rating of 2723. Ivanchuk has been busy      Jun-26-08 Topalov vs Shirov, 2003   StarJock: Shirov's downfall was 33...Nc5. This allowed Topalev's Queen to go to d2 with a double attack on the Knight and Rook, while gaining the diagonal to h6 square, where Topalev's three pieces harass the King.
