   Feb-22-09 Aeroflot Open (2009) (replies)

THE pawn: To me this is just sour grapes from Shak, Kurnosov is well-known in the GM circle as one powerhouse of a chessplayer, one of those underrated mighty strong tactical chessplayers with Zvjaginsev and Milov. You can't throw cheap tactics at a 2600 GM... But hey if these allegations ...

   Feb-21-09 Topalov-Kamsky Match (2009) (replies)

THE pawn: Ok, they are both really tired...Topalov played the horrible Bd8, losing immediately to Ra8, but kamsky responded with the equally poor Nc5...man this is just a bad, bad endgame. This match is low-quality...gimme a chair, I'll show them! ;)

   Feb-20-09 Linares (2009) (replies)

THE pawn: I don't think Anand played the dubious Ke1, freeing the a1 rook while bolstering the rook on d3 seemed simple and logical.

Feb-19-09 Aronian vs Carlsen, 2009 (replies)

THE pawn: I think that both Aronian's tactical shot 19.e4! and Carlsen's nice forteress setup were both very instructive, I kind of enjoyed this somewhat calm game. I always found this variation of the catalan very weak for black, probably an impression coming from this game I saw years ago.

   Feb-11-09 S Trofimov vs D Metlyakhin, 1994 (replies)

THE pawn: One of the funniest puns you'll come across :) 14.Rd5! goes in my most amazing moves collection, like right now.

   Jan-31-09 Corus (2009) (replies)

THE pawn: <AuN1> And who are you to decide what chessgames wishes to broadcast? I personnally think the Carlsen game is gonna be as exciting as every other game, and he's one of the leaders too, so it is equally about the tournament. Enjoy the game tommorrow everyone and many thanks to

   Jan-30-09 L Dominguez vs Aronian, 2009 (replies)

THE pawn: Leinier seems to have a strong opening preparation. Against Carslen, he reacted very precisely to his opening novelty and here he simply outprepared Aronian in a good game.

   Jan-28-09 Carlsen vs L Dominguez, 2009 (replies)

THE pawn: Whatever people say about Carlsen, this kid has it all. In a worse position, he managed to quickly spot 32...Bd3? as a mistake (I didn't know how bad this was at all) and threw out of the bag a very, very agressive combination to get the full point.

Jan-28-09 Karjakin vs Movsesian, 2009 (replies)

THE pawn: I can't believe I missed that game. Karjakin played with such accuracy, normally even GMs have a hard-time during queen endgames. 63.Qd6! was probably the final blow and as some pointed out, 40...Qxb2 might have saved black.

   Jan-22-09 L Dominguez vs Morozevich, 2009 (replies)

THE pawn: What a beauty, you can put that in your puzzle list! 35.Nf5!
