TechnoGuyRob: Oh, I see now. Half an hour's analysis shows: 28. Rg1 b3! Now if 29. Qc4 bxa2 30. Ra1 Ne3 31. Qd3 (31. Qc3 e5!! 32. Nf3 (32. dxe6?? Bc6+ Kh2 Nf1+) Ke7) Nf1 32. Qc4 Rxg5 (32.. O-O-O?? Qa6+) And if 29. Qd2 bxa2 30. Ra1 O-O-O With no way to stop the threat of Rh8+. So we ...

TechnoGuyRob: Was this really resignable?

   Jan-29-13 L Spassov vs T Porrasmaa, 1966 (replies)

TechnoGuyRob: <gauer>'s elevator puzzle is impossible to arise during the game. You need 15 white pawn captures to achieve it, meaning black has to sacrifice all 15 pieces. However blacks f,g,h pawns need to also shift in order to be captured, and white does not have enough pieces to ...
